Vizag station wears deserted look

Visakhapatnam, September 27: The ongoing modernization works of signaling system in Vijayawada have doubled up the troubles of Vizag passengers as several trains were cancelled totally while some others were partially cancelled. The works will continue for another three to five days.

The Vizag railway station wears a deserted look without trains. The railway officials were unable to tell the timings of the arrival of trains and thus making the travelers confused. Several passengers have cancelled their tickets.

The railway officials stated that full amount will be refunded if the passengers cancel their registration half-an-hour before the train timings.

It will take 15 to 30 days to get the refund if the ticket is cancelled after the schedule train timings. And this will not apply to the trains that were cancelled.

Each train is stopping at Gunadala and Rayanapadu stations for the convenience of Vijayawada-bound passengers. RTC buses were arranged at these stations to reach Vijayawada.

Ratnachal express scheduled on Wednesday and the express coming from Hyderabad was cancelled. 12 special buses were arranged at the railway station on Tuesday for those want to go to Vijayawada.

But the passengers are averse to travel in bus since the bus fare ranges from Rs 500 to Rs 600 depending on the bus type. Whereas it is only Rs 160 for any superfast train between Vizag and Vijayawada.

Majority of Vijayawada-bound passengers are travelling in the trains that were running up to Eluru only.
But several people have either cancelled or postponed their journeys due to high fares, heavy rains also.
