Trail of an Electric Bus is Success from JBS to RGI Airport

Hyderabad, March 29: The Regional Transport Authority of Hyderabad has approved to run for trail of an electric bus on the occasion of Ugadi festival, which was brought to the city in the last week of January.

Goldstone Infratech Limited, a Chinese bus manufacturer has presented 12-metre long BYD K-series bus to Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) for trial runs as part of its proposed pilot project.

This 36 seater bus comprising four batteries will be operated between Jubilee Bus Station and Rajiv Gandhi International Airport, Shamshabad.

"The bus, which is eco-friendly and most effective in combating air pollution emission, will run eight trips. This can run up to 250 km on a single charge", said A Purushotham Naik, Executive Director, Greater Hyderabad Zone of TSRTC. From JBS to RGI Airport, the fare being charged is Rs 265 per person.

Electric Bus timings
From JBS: 5 am, 9.10 am, 4.10 pm and 8.20 pm
From RGI Airport: 7 am, 11.20 am, 6.10 pm and 10.15 pm

The bus will have halts at Tank Bund, Secretariat, Masab Tank, Mehdipatnam before reaching the airport from PVNR Expressway.
