PIL in High court to free from religion reservations

Hyderabad, March 22: What's in a Govt form? A lot of things, including your name, "father/husband's name", date of birth, and of course, your religion and caste.

But what happens when you don't believe in religion and don't want to bring up your child with a caste? What about the non-religious, the agnostics, the atheists, the children of couples who hold different faiths, or just about any person who does not want to tell the government which gods they pray to?

From this point of view, A division bench of Hyderabad High Court comprising Acting Chief Justice Ramesh Ranganathan and Justice Shameem Akhter on Tuesday ordered notices in PIL filed for, do not want to declare religion and caste on any official forms.

The same division bench on Tuesday ordered notices in a case filed by a couple who do not want to declare religion and caste on any official forms.

The interesting case was filed by D. Ramakrishna Rao and Saladi Clarence Kripalini, from Moulali of Hyderabad. The bench asked the authorities to respond in two weeks.
