TS govt to hike the Dialysis Centers

Hyderabad, March 19: The Telangana State government has decided to extend dialysis centers to all the area and district hospitals as part of its efforts to strengthen government hospitals Statewide, Minister for Health C Laxma Reddy said on Saturday.

Replying to question raised by TRS members B Venkatreswarlu, B Laxminarayana and Gangadhar Goud during question hour in the Council, the Minister said in the first phase, 34 dialysis centers would be set up in two months and in the second phase, it will be extended to all the area and district headquarter hospitals.



The Minister pointed out that prior to bifurcation of the State in 2014, only seven dialysis centers were established in Telangana region. After TRS came to power, the government decided to give all facilities to the poor people in government hospitals on par with corporate hospitals.

"A committee would be set up to recommend dialysis units in the State based on the patients requirement," he said.

Replying to the question raised by the leader of opposition Mohammad Shabir Ali on recruitment of staff to deal with the dialysis units and training to medical staff in area hospitals on the dialysis procedure, the Minister said the dialysis centers are being established under Private Public Partnership (PPP).
